Changing Your Password

Regularly updating your password helps keep your account secure:

  1. Click your profile picture or initials in the top-right corner
  2. Select My Profile from the dropdown menu
  3. Navigate to the Security tab
  4. Click the Change Password button
  5. Enter your current password for verification
  6. Enter your new password twice to confirm
  7. Click Update Password to save the changes

A strong password should be at least 12 characters long and include a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Enhance your account security with two-factor authentication:

  1. On your profile page, navigate to the Security tab
  2. Find the Two-Factor Authentication section
  3. Click Enable 2FA to begin setup
  4. Choose your preferred 2FA method:
    • Authenticator App: Use Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or similar apps
    • SMS Verification: Receive codes via text message
    • Email Verification: Receive codes via email
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup:
    • For authenticator apps: Scan the QR code or enter the provided key
    • For SMS: Verify your phone number
    • For email: Confirm your email address
  6. Enter the verification code to confirm setup
  7. Save your backup codes in a secure location

With 2FA enabled, you'll need both your password and a verification code to log in, providing an extra layer of security.

Managing Recovery Options

Set up recovery options to ensure you can regain access to your account:

  1. In the Security tab, locate the Account Recovery section
  2. Ensure your recovery email is current and verified
  3. Add or update your recovery phone number
  4. Set up security questions if prompted
  5. Click Save Changes to update your recovery options

Having multiple recovery options ensures you can regain access to your account even if you lose access to one recovery method.

Session Management

Review and manage your active login sessions:

  1. In the Security tab, find the Active Sessions section
  2. View a list of all devices and locations where your account is currently logged in
  3. Each session shows:
    • Device type and browser
    • Location and IP address
    • Date and time of login
    • Last activity timestamp
  4. To end a session, click Sign Out next to that session
  5. To end all sessions except your current one, click Sign Out All Other Devices

Regularly review your active sessions and sign out from any unrecognized devices or locations.

Security Notifications

Configure alerts for important security events:

  1. In the Security tab, locate the Security Alerts section
  2. Toggle which security events you want to be notified about:
    • New device logins
    • Unusual location access
    • Failed login attempts
    • Password changes
    • Recovery method updates
  3. Choose how you want to receive these alerts (email, SMS, or both)
  4. Click Save Preferences to update your settings
