Our Legacy
From humble beginnings to champions
1950 - The Beginning
The Vision
Golden Sharks FC was founded in 1950 by a group of local football enthusiasts led by Sir James Harrington and Captain Robert Waters. Their vision was to create a club that would represent the coastal community and bring glory to Seaside City.
The club's name was inspired by the golden sharks that frequent the coastal waters, symbolizing strength, determination, and the ability to thrive in challenging conditions.
Our first home ground was Seaside Park, a modest pitch that could accommodate 5,000 passionate supporters. It was here that the foundation of our footballing philosophy was laid - attacking football, youth development, and community spirit.
